Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Audit Intern to join our internal audit team at Mwananchi Credit. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in auditing practices and support the audit team in reviewing regulatory compliance within the firm.

Desired Skills:

• Assist in conducting internal audits and reviews of financial statements.
• Help with the documentation of audit findings and preparation of reports.
• Review and analyze financial data, transactions, and internal controls.
• Support the preparation of audit working papers and checklists.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Participate in the testing of internal controls and risk management processes.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and timelines.
• Participate in the review of financial statements for accuracy and completeness.

Preferred Attributes:

• A basic understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) or IAS (International Accounting Standards).
• Prior internship experience in auditing or finance is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with accounting software or audit tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
• Candidate to have completed at least intermediate level in CPA
• Basic understanding of auditing principles and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new skills in auditing and financial analysis.
