This three-month attachment program offers students exposure to diverse career fields within the housing and construction sectors, equipping them with the necessary skills to enhance their employability. Available Attachment Positions
NHC welcomes applications from continuing students pursuing studies in various fields. The attachment positions available are as follows:
1. Planning, Quality & Risk Management
- Total Positions Available: 4
This area focuses on policy planning, risk management, and quality control within housing projects. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in project planning, compliance, and strategic risk assessment to ensure successful housing projects that meet industry standards.
2. Construction & Project Management (Total Positions: 14)
This directorate is responsible for overseeing the execution of housing projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and within budget. The breakdown of positions is as follows:
- Engineering (6 Positions)
- Eldoret – 1
- Kakamega – 2
- Nakuru – 3
- Nairobi – 1
Candidates in this category will gain valuable field experience in civil engineering, structural engineering, and project management, working closely with industry professionals.
- Quantities & Contracts – 3 Positions
Students specializing in quantity surveying and contract management will learn about cost estimation, contract drafting, and financial management of construction projects. - Land Survey – 2 Positions
This role involves mapping, land assessment, and boundary identification, crucial for planning and executing housing projects. - Architecture – 2 Positions
Architecture students will work on designing sustainable housing solutions, learning about structural planning, 3D modeling, and blueprint interpretation.
3. Estates (Total Positions: 7)
Estate management is essential in ensuring efficient property administration and maintenance. Positions are available in:
- Nairobi – 3 Positions
- Kisumu – 2 Positions
- Mombasa – 2 Positions
Successful candidates will gain exposure to property management, facility maintenance, and tenant relations, giving them insight into the real estate industry.
4. Finance Directorate (Total Positions: 5)
Students in finance, accounting, and related fields will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in:
- Financial reporting
- Budgeting and financial planning
- Procurement and expenditure tracking
This attachment provides an excellent platform for students interested in corporate finance and public sector accounting.
5. Corporate Services (Total Positions: 12)
Corporate services involve administrative functions that support the overall operations of the organization. The positions available include:
- HR (Human Resources) – 3 Positions
- Students will gain experience in recruitment, employee relations, payroll management, and training & development.
- Administration – 3 Positions
- This role involves office management, documentation, and process optimization to ensure smooth organizational operations.
- ICT (Information and Communication Technology) – 7 Positions
- ICT students will work in software development, IT support, networking, and cybersecurity, contributing to digital solutions within NHC.
- Corporate Communication – 1 Position
- This role involves public relations, branding, and media management, providing students with exposure to corporate marketing strategies.
6. Supply Chain Management (Total Positions: 4)
Students in logistics, procurement, and supply chain management will have an opportunity to gain practical experience in sourcing, contract management, and supplier relations.
7. Internal Audit (Total Positions: 1)
This position is ideal for students in audit, risk management, and accounting, providing exposure to compliance assessment, fraud detection, and financial risk analysis.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the NHC Industrial Attachment Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
✅ Be a continuing student enrolled in an accredited institution pursuing a Degree, Diploma, or Craft Certificate in the specified fields listed above.
✅ Be available full-time for the three-month attachment period from January to March 2025.
✅ Possess a valid introduction letter from their respective learning institution confirming their academic status.
