1. Communication Internship – Nairobi Office
Role Overview
The Communication Intern will collaborate closely with the NTA communication team, assisting in branding, digital engagement, and media outreach. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about content creation, digital communication, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhancing NTA’s brand identity by developing communication materials, including digital media content, reports, publications, flyers, and posters.
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating social media engagement strategies to enhance NTA’s online presence.
- Creating engaging visual content that effectively conveys project objectives.
- Ensuring all communication materials adhere to NTA’s branding and style guidelines.
- Assisting in internal communication strategies to improve organizational outreach.
- Supporting media pitching, website content development, and promotional materials.
- Monitoring and optimizing social media analytics to improve engagement.
- Managing online fundraising and policy influence campaigns.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using digital media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn) for engagement and advocacy.
- Experience with social media design and content creation tools.
- Understanding of how social media influences policy change campaigns.
- Self-driven and eager to take initiative in projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Strong ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information.

Internship Terms
- The internship is for three months, with the possibility of an extension based on performance and funding availability.
- The intern is required to work three days per week under the Communication Department.
- Applicants must have access to a functional laptop.
- This is an unpaid internship, but NTA will cover work-related expenses.
2. Programs Internship – Kisumu Office
Role Overview
The Programs Intern will work closely with the NTA programs team, assisting in policy advocacy, project implementation, and stakeholder engagement. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about governance, policy research, and development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the implementation of project activities and field operations.
- Conducting policy analysis and supporting advocacy efforts.
- Engaging with stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and community groups.

- Contributing to project budgeting and proposal development.
- Assisting in social media content creation and engagement for program visibility.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization.
- Strong ethical values and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (both written and spoken).
- Excellent communication, writing, and reporting skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
