KCB Foundation Partners with Embu County to Offer Vocational Training Scholarships
The KCB Foundation, in collaboration with Embu County, is extending an exceptional opportunity to residents of the county by offering scholarships for vocational training courses. These scholarships are designed to empower individuals at Grade 3 Level with practical skills that align with market demands, fostering economic independence and entrepreneurship. The training will be conducted at seven renowned vocational training centers within the county: Ena Vocational Training Centre, Karurumo Vocational Training Centre, Ishiara Vocational Training Centre, Siakago Vocational Training Centre, Kanorori Vocational Training Centre, Tenri Vocational Training Centre, and Iriamurai Vocational Training Centre. Applications must be submitted by 26th January 2025, with interviews scheduled to take place between 29th and 31st January 2025 at the respective centers.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the skills and enterprise development scholarship:
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Embu County.
- Training Commitment: They should be willing to undertake the training at any of the seven designated vocational training institutes.
- Identification: A valid National Identity Card is required.
- Literacy: Applicants must be able to read and write in Kiswahili and/or English.
- Attendance: Commitment to attend all training sessions, including industrial placements within their city or town of residence, is mandatory.
- Eligibility Categories: Candidates must fall within one of the three categories—Skiller, Apprentice, or Bus (specific details about these categories can be clarified during the application process).
Application Process and Instructions
To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps:
- Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form with clarity and accuracy. Only complete applications will be considered.
- Submission and Download: After submitting your responses, select “Save My Responses.” Once saved, download and print the completed form.
- Prepare Required Documents: Ensure you have the following documents ready:
- A completed application form with a passport-size photo attached.
- Copies of your National Identity Card.
- Certificates of your highest academic qualifications.
- Originals for Verification: During the interview, present the original copies of the above documents. Failure to produce these documents will result in automatic disqualification.
- Interview Attendance: Attend the interview at the specified vocational training center within the stipulated dates.
