Introduction to the Intern – Geospatial Data Analysis Role
The Intern – Geospatial Data Analysis position at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Nairobi presents an exciting opportunity for aspiring professionals in geospatial sciences, data analysis, and urban development.

This internship will expose candidates to cutting-edge spatial analysis techniques , geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and urban analytics. Interns will assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing geospatial data to support various UN-Habitat projects, including sustainable urban planning, climate resilience, infrastructure development, and spatial inequality assessments. The role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including urban planners, data scientists, and policy experts, to provide valuable insights for evidence-based policymaking and urban management.
Through this role, interns will gain hands-on experience in using GIS tools, developing spatial datasets, and visualizing geospatial information to address pressing urban challenges.
