The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading authority on environmental issues within the United Nations system. It works with partners worldwide to set the global environmental agenda, implement sustainable development, and advocate for environmental stewardship. UNEP is seeking a Programme Management Intern to join its Nairobi office to support the effective delivery of environmental programmes and projects.
Job Description
The Programme Management Intern will work closely with the programme management team to assist in the coordination, planning, and implementation of UNEP’s activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation and review of project proposals, progress reports, and briefing notes.
- Supporting the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects, including data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Assisting in organizing meetings, workshops, and events, including logistics and preparation of materials.
- Maintaining and updating project files, databases, and documentation for programme tracking.
- Contributing to the preparation of presentations, communication materials, and other outreach products.
- Assisting in research on environmental topics relevant to programme objectives.
- Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to support the timely delivery of activities.
- Performing other related tasks to support the programme team as required.
Work Location
The internship will be based at UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
Expected Duration
Duration will follow UNEP internship guidelines (to be confirmed upon selection).
