The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals interested in business intelligence, data analytics, and environmental sustainability . The BI Intern , based at UNEP’s headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya , will support efforts to enhance data-driven decision-making through the collection, analysis, and visualization of key environmental and organizational data.
As an intern, you will assist in gathering, processing, and analyzing large datasets to generate actionable insights that support UNEP’s strategic initiatives. Your role may involve working with business intelligence tools, data dashboards, and reporting frameworks to track performance metrics, assess trends, and optimize workflows. Additionally, you may contribute to data visualization projects, predictive analytics models, and knowledge-sharing platforms that improve information accessibility for decision-makers.
The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in data science, business analytics, information systems, computer science, environmental studies, or a related field . Strong proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio , as well as data analysis programming languages like Python, R, or SQL , is highly desirable. Knowledge of database management, cloud computing, and statistical analysis is an added advantage.
