The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals passionate about information management, data organization, and environmental sustainability . The Intern – Information Management , based at UNEP’s headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya , will support efforts to enhance data accessibility, knowledge sharing, and digital resource management for environmental programs and initiatives.
As an intern, you will assist in data collection, processing, and organization of digital resources , ensuring that environmental information is structured, accessible, and effectively used for decision-making. Your role may involve supporting content management systems, developing metadata frameworks, updating databases, and enhancing digital archives . Additionally, you may contribute to data visualization, reporting, and the creation of knowledge-sharing platforms to improve the dissemination of environmental information among stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in information management, library sciences, data science, environmental studies, or a related field . Strong skills in data organization, content management systems (CMS), database management, and digital archiving are highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data visualization tools, and knowledge-sharing platforms is an advantage.
